Castletown, Castletown-Geoghegan, Co. Westmeath is for rent on Daft.ie

This bespoke timber alcove sleeps precisely one adult and their unresolved feelings about personal space, framed by a window installed at the exact height needed to prevent standing up. The reclaimed plank walls whisper of a bygone era when livestock, too, appreciated a snug berth with a view of the trees. At €270 a week, you're not paying for square footage, you're paying for the privilege of describing your home as "rustic" instead of "a converted shed" at dinner parties.
